Jonas Astrauskas, 73, of Orland Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on July 2, 2025, with his beloved wife and family by his side. His journey on earth was marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended but for the way it was lived and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing Jonas. Born in Chicago to Antanas and Salomeja (Sipaila) Astrauskas, Jonas grew up in a close-knit community that nurtured his strong values and deep love for family and heritage. He attended Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Elementary School and graduated from St. Laurence High School in Burbank. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, and a master’s in public administration from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Jonas served with distinction in the Chicago Police Department for over 30 years, rising through the ranks from patrolman to security specialist within the Detached Services subunit. Respected for his quiet strength, steady presence, and unwavering integrity, he left behind a legacy of dedicated public service. Deeply proud of his Lithuanian heritage, Jonas remained actively involved in celebrating and preserving his cultural traditions. Whether through language, dance, community events, or family gatherings, he kept those connections vibrant throughout his life. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he found joy in cheering for the Chicago Bears, reliving the Bulls and Blackhawks history, and spending time on the golf course, where his wit and warmth were just as memorable as his swing. Most recently, he prayed to Pope Leo XIV to perform miracles on the White Sox. In May 1993, during an NBA playoff game televised at Tufano’s Vernon Park Tap, Jonas met the love of his life, Marianne. What began as a serendipitous evening bloomed into a marriage marked by laughter, deep admiration, and abiding joy. Jonas is survived by his devoted wife, Marianne (Wolf), his cherished daughter, Gabija (Joseph Rosenzweig); and his beloved grandsons, Hunter and James. He is also remembered with love by his sister, Jurate (Jerry) Hughes; niece, Kristina (Andrew) Sullivan; and nephew, Jerry (Rachel) Hughes Jr., and many loving grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antanas and Salomeja, and his in-laws, Joseph and Cecilia Wolf. The Astrauskas family extends heartfelt thanks to Anna Graf, Ewa Dybowski, and Katarzyna Stachen for their compassionate and dedicated care throughout Jonas’s long illness, to the Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospice team for their comforting support in his final days, and to his longtime speech therapist, Laurie Dolan, whose friendship became a source of strength and joy. Those who knew Jonas will remember him for his infectious smile and laughter, as well as his unwavering commitment to spreading kindness and love to everyone he encountered. He had a rare gift for making those around him laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who were blessed to cross his path. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 10:30 AM, at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church,15050 South Wolf Road, Orland Park, Illinois 60467-3028. Shana Kevise, a beacon of selflessness and love, left an indelible mark on the world when she passed away on June 28th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of service and compassion that will continue to inspire those who knew her. Born on October 6, 1970, to Elaine Fitzpatrick and Elmore Richardson, Shana's life was a testament to the power of giving and the strength of the human spirit. Shana's journey was one of unwavering dedication to her community. For 30 years, she donned the uniform of a Chicago Police Officer, a role she played with honor and commitment. Her courage and empathy were the cornerstones of her service, and she was a true guardian of the city she loved. Beyond the badge, Shana's altruism shone brightly through E.S.A.K, a non-profit organization she founded to uplift others. Her vision was clear: to create pathways for individuals in underserved communities to find training and sustainable employment opportunities. Through her work, Shana aspired to change lives, as she believed that everyone deserved a chance to thrive, and she worked tirelessly to make that a reality. Shana's love for life was evident in her diverse interests. She was an avid music lover and film buff, finding joy and meaning in the melodies and stories that filled her world. Traveling was more than a hobby—it was a way for her to connect with the tapestry of cultures and experiences that shape our global community. At home, her favorite book, "Only Love Is Real" by Brian Weiss, was a reflection of the spiritual beliefs that guided her every action. Shana believed that love was the most potent force in the universe, and she lived that truth every day. Her mother, Elaine Fitzpatrick, her daughters, Amy Lauren and Kai Mocha, and her cherished cat, Ghost, knew the warmth of Shana's love firsthand. Along with her cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, as well as a circle of close friends who were her chosen family. Shana's ability to make each person feel seen and valued was a rare gift, one that will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Shana Kevise was indeed a dreamer, a doer, and a changer of worlds. Her luminous spirit will continue to guide us as we strive to live up to her extraordinary example. She was the kind of person who not only brought light into the room but also encouraged others to let their own lights shine. Passed away 05 July 2025 MARTIN “MARTY” MARGOLIS, father of Sergeant Michael Margolis assigned to the Critical Incident Response Team.

Martin “Marty” Margolis, 92, beloved husband and best friend of Suzanne nee Roy, for 45 wonderful years; loving father of Tracy, Jody, Cary (Laura), Matthew (Christina) and Michael (Kelsey Monkiewicz); cherished Papa of Isabel, Luke and Madelyn; devoted son of the late Rose and Irving; dear brother of the late Millie Dick; treasured brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend of many. A warm and engaging person who naturally drew others to him, Marty created a legacy of extended family and friends who treasured him. Regardless of who you were, Marty “saw” you and welcomed you for however long you were there, minutes or years. In addition to a successful career in real estate, Marty loved coaching his children’s baseball and soccer teams. He enjoyed playing tennis and racquetball and took up skiing at midlife. He was also a proud member of the Running Hearts Club. Marty was a loyal Bears and Cubs fan going back to the days when both played at Wrigley Field. He carefully planned family vacations and camping trips, including many to national parks. Marty brought joy, laughter, and warmth to everyone he met. Michael John (Mikey John) A Williams, age 67, died peacefully at home surrounded by family. Beloved husband of the late Deborah Williams (nee Gach), loving mother of Lisa Williams and Tiffany Williams (Michael Mantlo). Adoring Grandpa to Johnathan, Mikey, Michaela and Marissa. Devoted son to the late Mary and George Williams. Brother to Patrick Williams (Sue), the late George Williams, the late Tammie (Bob) Kelly, Steve Williams (Liz, CPD), Ricky Williams (Janet,) Gina Novak (Danny), Mary Garner (Ken) and Danny Williams. Dear Son in-law to the late Chuck and Dolores Gach. Brother in-law to the late Chuck Gach, Sr. (Margaret). Uncle too many nieces and nephews. Loving nephew to many Aunts and Uncles. Lifelong resident of Canaryville and worked for Peoples Gas Company for over 30 years. Mike was the best neighborhood mechanic and would help everyone out. He loved driving his Harley and was also known as “Mikey Wallace”. He was a member of The Flags Club, the Canaryville Veterans Association and the Canaryville Veterans Riders Association. He loved his grand dogs Max, Buster and Chippy. Mike was loved by all who knew him and will be missed very much.
