Edwin C. Kehm, 89, of Elgin, passed away on September 26, 2025. He was born June 27, 1936, in Waterman, IL, the son of Edwin G. and Thelma Kehm. Edwin graduated from Beloit College in 1957 with a bachelor's degree in history. He retired from the Elgin Police Department in 1992, with the rank of Lieutenant. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Linda; his sons, James C. Kehm and Charles F. Kehm; 4 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Catherine L. Kehm; and a granddaughter. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. For information, call 847-741-8800 or

Ron Michelon, 84, of Northbrook, IL died October 2, 2025, son of Charles Michelon and Rita Caffrey, and loving husband of Gisele Dahl, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He is survived by his wife, Gisele, and his children Rick (Amy) and Jon (Stacey) and stepchildren Jeff (Anne), Diana, and Danny Dahl. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Emily, Daniel, Myles, Amanda, Alex, Brendan, Benjamin, Shane Michelon and loving step grandchildren Jake, Max, Eli, Lindsay and Avery Dahl. He had six siblings. He is survived by Rita, Shirley, Billy and Chuck. Ron was a highly respected businessman and long-time owner of Ron’s Staffing Services. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers please send donations to a cause dear to Ron and his family at Lurie Children’s Hospital (www.luriechildrens.org/Michelon) or Providence Farm (www.pfcommunity.org/) or Parkinson’s Disease research (www.michaeljfox.org). Service will be held Monday October 6, at 12:00pm at the Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette, IL 60091. Service will be livestreamed. Interment is private.
