Kevin Dwyer, Retired Chicago Police Detective, U.S. Army Veteran, age 59 of Orland Hills, passed away May 4, 2024. Beloved husband of Pamela (nee O’Brien); Loving dad of Luke and Timothy; Devoted son of Luke, Retired CFD (Barbara) and the late Carole (nee Warnick); Cherished brother of the late Patrick and Michael; Dear son-in-law of Linda and the late Michael O’Brien; Fond brother-in-law of Debbie (Bob, CPD) Giglio; Kind uncle of Christopher Dwyer and Samantha Giglio; Proud fur father of Scarlet O’Hara, Levi, and the late Pluto; Wonderful friend to many. Donald J. Raef, age 68, of Woodstock, passed away, Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Northwestern Hospital in Huntley. He was born in Carpentersville on July 16, 1955 to Charles Edward and Joan Avery (Decker) Raef. He worked as a FireFighter and EMS in the state of Illinois for 40+ years retiring from Richmond Fire Department as a Lieutenant. He owned and operated ProMed Paramedic Services. Don was a very skilled tradesman and painter. He was a faithful member of the Moose Lodge in several areas. His warm and friendly nature will be missed by many. He is survived by a son Eric (Stephanie) Raef; a daughter Ashley Raef; a grandchild Parker, with another grandchild on the way; siblings Kenneth, Patricia, Deborah, Margaret, Connie. He was preceded in death by his parents; also siblings Charles, Richard, Robert and James. A celebration of Life will take place at the Woodstock Moose Lodge #1329 on Friday, May 10th, 2024 from 12:00pm until 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research, Wounded Warrior Project or American Wild Horse Conservation.
