Ralph Kenneth DiFiore Sr., age 79, of Oak Lawn, IL, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A proud and dedicated retired Chicago Police Officer, Ralph devoted his life to service, protection, and integrity. His strength, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his community and family will always be remembered. Ralph is survived by his beloved wife, Antonietta “Toni” DiFiore. He's a loving father to Pamela DiFiore-Majewski and Amanda (David) Godin; cherished grandfather to Christopher and Abigail Majewski and Lea Godin; a loving great-grandfather to Murphy and Reid Simonie-Majewski. Ralph’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. A visitation and funeral service will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025 family and friends will gather from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd St., Oak Lawn. Interment Private.

Aquileo Merito Rodriguez, 47 yrs, passed away suddenly on June 04, 2025. Loving husband of Maria Macias. Beloved father of Brian (Irene), Christian (SanJuana), Jerry, Jaylene, Lia, Yareli, Ryan, and the late Lian. Fond brother of Jose, Jesus, Ernesto, Lizeth, and the late Felix and Yesenia. Cherished grandfather of 3 grandchildren. Visitation: Thursday, June 12, 2025, 3:00pm-8:00pm @ Ocwieja-Robles Funeral Home 4256 S. Mozart St. Chg, IL. Our beloved Linda Louise Paukert, nee Aykroid, 76, of Niles, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, after a long battle with dementia. Born in Chicago, Illinois on April 28, 1949 to Benjamin and Catherine (Biggie) Aykroid. She was the quintessential mother, wife, and friend. She loved to host large extended family gatherings in her home. She enjoyed attending sporting events, especially those of her children and grandchildren. She embodied the word selfless, always putting the needs of others before her own. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Frank Paukert Sr., retired CFD Paramedic, of Niles, Illinois, her 3 children Frank Paukert Jr. (Jackie) of Land O’ Lakes, Wisconsin, Jeanette (Paukert) Wehrenberg of Walpole, Massachusetts, and Andy Paukert (Rebecca) of Chicago, Illinois. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Walter, Murray, Payton, Xavier, May, Henry, Jack, Joseph, and Emily. Linda was preceded in death by her 4 siblings Patricia (Aykroid) Vito, Tom Aykroid, John Aykroid, and Kathleen (Aykroid) Brander. A celebration of life will be conducted at a later date.

CPD FATHERS' DAY MASS AT GOLD STAR FAMILIES’ MEMORIAL AND PARK 10:00 A.M. SUNDAY, 15 JUNE 2025.

All active and retired CPD members, Gold Star Families, Chaplains Ministry supporters, and their families are welcome...as is the public. Mass will be finished by 10:30 for the sake of on-duty worshipers on their lunch break.

While this is a Catholic Mass, ALL are welcome to honor dads/grandfathers/father figures whose names are permanently inscribed on the walls of the CPD memorial.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket...and a picnic lunch if you'd like to stick around.

IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER, call Fr. Dan Brandt, directing CPD Chaplain, at 773-550-2369 for status. Ample free parking is available on Special Olympics Drive (formerly Museum Campus Drive), adjacent to the park. Uniformed CPD officers will direct you.

The CFD 5-11 canteen will be on hand providing water, Gatorade, coffee and snacks,and the mounted unit horses will be looking forward to seeing you as well.

MEETING REMINDER!

The Professional Counseling Division/ EAP would like to remind all Department Members about the Family Member Suicide Support Group, which will meet on Tuesday, June 17th, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. (1800 hrs). The meeting will take place at the EAP South Office, located at 11540 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL 60643, Phone: (312) 742-0222. This support group is open to the family members of department personnel who are seeking support and resources. If you are interested in joining or would like more information, please call (312) 743 0378 and ask for Assistant Director Kathleen O’Neill to complete the screening process for participation. The Professional Counseling Division/EAP provides confidential support for active, retired, sworn, and civilian department members, as well as their immediate families.
