Mary Leigh McInerney nee Hincks, age 81, of Chicago, IL; passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Beloved wife of Daniel McInerney retired C.P.D.; loving mother of Michael McInerney, Elizabeth Mcinerney, Mary-Kate McInerney, Daniel McInerney and Maureen McInerney; dearest sister of William (Carolyn) Hincks and the late Maureen (James) Kapnick. Maria Nodal Perez, 85, at rest June 8, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Jose Luis for 51 humor-filled years. Loving mother of Sandra (Carlos), Soria and Sonia (Nestor) Torres. Cherished grandmother of Carlos (Allie), Elizabeth (James), Diana, and Christina. Great grandmother of Jose Luis. Dear sister of the late Maria De La Luz, the late Jesus, the late Maria Nemecia, the late Luis. Loving friend to her dear comadres and compadres and Juventud Obrera Catolica (la JOC) family. Proud aunt to many nieces and nephews, many who served in CPD and CFD. Her happiness was found in sunshine, rainbows, her garden in full bloom and chocolate. Her heart was filled with music from Chente, Elvis, “GeeBees,” Javier Solis, Juan Gabriel, mariachis and many more. Her excitement was built from her competitive nature-Casinos, Poker, Blackjack, the Bears, the Cubs, the Bulls- basically anything with a score. A dedicated, determined, inspiring, and amazingly strong woman. Mom has “won” and is now in God’s eternal embrace. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 17 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge. The family encourages you to wear bright colors since Maria was such a joy to those who knew her. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home then proceed to St. Eugene Catholic Church, Chicago, for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery. Robert Zuber, Army Veteran, longtime resident of Chicago Garfield Ridge Community. Beloved husband of Marlene. Loving father of Michael retired CPD (Patricia retired CPD) Zuber, Christine Zuber (John Blankenship) and Katherine (William) Leen. Proud Papa of Matthew U.S. Army, Margaret and Maeve Zuber, Alexandria and Samantha Blankenship, Hannah, Abbie and William Leen. Brother of the late Al (Dorothy) Zuber. The Members who have the Sig Sauer P320 as their Prescribed Weapon are reminded that the Sig Sauer P320 is being phased out and will no longer be an approved firearm by the Chicago Police Department for any use, including as an alternate prescribed firearm. All members who have the Sig Sauer P320 as their Prescribed Weapon must have an order placed for a new Authorized Prescribed Weapon and Department-authorized field duty rated holster no later than 14 July 2025. For information on Authorized Prescribed Weapons other than the Sig Sauer P320, please refer to U04-02 01 “Department Approved Handguns and Ammunition.” Members who have a Department Approved Alternate Prescribed Weapon other than a Sig Sauer P320, may opt to reclassify that firearm as their Prescribed Weapon, consistent with U04-02-01 “Department Approved Handguns and Ammunition,” in lieu of purchasing and registering a new firearm. Members opting to reclassify an Alternate Prescribed Weapon into the Prescribed Weapon category must do so no later than 14 July 2025. Members who purchase a replacement Prescribed Weapon to their Sig Sauer P320 must register the newly acquired firearm with the City and report to the Public Safety Training Center (PSTC) range to qualify with the new firearm. Members who choose to reclassify an Alternate Prescribed Weapon as a Prescribed Weapon consistent with provisions set forth in U04-02-01 “Department Approved Handguns and Ammunition,” may do so by reporting to the PSTC range and qualifying with the firearm. Members will report to the PSTC range with their replacement firearm, soft body armor, duty belt, magazines, and authorized duty holster to qualify with the firearm.
