Rosarina R. Rizzato (Russo) passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025. Born on December 23, 1939, in Lattarico, Italy, Rosarina married the love of her life, Anthony Rizzato in 1958, and moved to America. Rosarina and Anthony moved to Chicago and Anthony became a Chicago Police Officer. Tragically, Anthony Rizzato was killed in the line of duty in 1970 leaving Rosarina to raise their young daughter and son. Known for her strength, faith, and sense of humor, Rosarina was loved by her friends, neighbors, and family. She was truly an inspiration to all who met her. Becoming a grandmother (nonna) to Alicia, Daniel and Sol and great-grandmother (bisnonna) to Eva Rose was her greatest joy. Rosarina is survived by her daughter Rosa (Lee Goldfine) and son Anthony, in addition to her grandchildren Alicia Goldfine (Dan Ibeling), Daniel Goldfine (fiance Caroline Smrokowski), and Sol Rizzato, also her great granddaughter Eva Rose, her brother Salvatore (Russo) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony, her parents Angelina and Salvatore, her sister Carmelina (Pendola), and her sister Geltrude (Patrone). The internment was private. The family requests those wishing to honor Rosarina to consider a donation to Back the Vest, The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation, or a charity of choice in her memory.
