Roberto “Tito” Sandoval, 67, late of Slag Valley passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 8, 2025. He is survived by his siblings, Yolanda (Braulio) DeAnda, Juan “Johnny” Sandoval, Ret. CPD, Rosalinda (John) Barajas, Amelia “Mel” Sandoval, Lucio “Lucho” Sandoval, Lorenzo “Lencho” (Laura) Sandoval, Ret. CPD, and Dalia (Javier) Mejía. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rafael Sandoval and Rosa Cano, and his sisters, Virginia Quintana and Carmen Sandoval. Tito attended Bowen High School and, like many of his generation, he worked at the U.S. Steel, completing his General Education Diploma (GED) later. Tito marched to the beat of his own drum; while he may have been considered a solitary man, he was always surrounded by company and loved by many. You could often see him riding his bike through Slag Valley or sitting outside his home, enjoying the breeze and talking with all those who passed by. He was quiet, and kept to himself, but was also known to make jokes to lighten the mood. He was known as "T" in the neighborhood - where he could be found cutting lawns for others. He was very close to all of his friends, who even called him "brother". He enjoyed visiting his parents’ hometown of Celaya, Guanajuato. He cherished being connected to his extended family there. He was a beloved uncle to many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews and will be missed by his friends and loved ones in the neighborhood.
