William Peter Conway, age 100, formerly of Worth, IL passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Miller Health Care Center in Kankakee. He was born March 15, 1925 in Worth, the son of Edward George & Gertrude Veronica (Markiewicz) Conway. William married Elsie Ida Abs Coverick. She preceded him in death. William lived in Worth, IL his entire life. He was Chief of the Worth Volunteer Fire Department. William was a lifetime member of local 150 Operating Engineers. He was a card-carrying Union Member for more than 75 years. William was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Ridge Catholic Parish. Surviving are two nieces, Sandra Knight of Bourbonnais and Caryn Dachner of Beachwood, OH; stepchildren, Kathy Kassbull and James Coverick; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and special friends, Stacy & Les Arp and Chris Pitman. In addition to his wife, Elsie Conway, William is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Edward Benjamin (Florence) Conway; one sister, Jessie (Edward) Emond; two nieces, Mary Ellen Kenny and Patricia (James) Radditz; one stepson, William Coverick. A committal service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Chapel in Alsip. Special thanks to Uplifted Care, Bishop Glancy of St. Patrick Catholic Church Parish, and especially the staff of Miller Rehabilitation. Arrangements by Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais.
