Dear Fellow CPD AZ Retiree,

PLEASE READ THIS IN ITS ENTIRETY! A TENTATIVE LUNCHEON HAS BEEN PLANNED AND WE HAVE A GUEST SPEAKER, MIKE MARRON, INVESTMENT SPECIALIST FROM CHICAGO WHO WILL SPEAK ON VARIOUS FINANCIAL MATTERS INCLUDING SOCIAL SECURITY, DEFERRED COMP, ETC. HE HAS BEEN TO OUR GROUP MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE PAST AND HIS INFORMATION IS INFORMATIVE AND VALUABLE.

It has been a journey trying to find an appropriate place to continue our monthly retiree luncheons. One of our members, Mike Powers, came up with a suggestion:

Mandarin Super Buffet, 1501 W. Bethany Home Road Phoenix, AZ 85015 602-589-8888

I went there on Thursday, October 2nd about 1:30 PM and gave management a letter about what we wanted for our monthly meeting. My wife and I had the luncheon buffet for $12.98 plus tax, plus a 10% senior discount for $25.51 for two. THIS IS HALF OF WHAT WE SPENT AT CASINO ARIZONA. Soft drinks are extra. We had some very excellent food, including seafood, Mongolian beef, chicken dishes, and many other selections. They also have sushi. The place was clean, the food was good, and they had a dessert selection of cakes, cookies, ice cream, and fruit. I am sure I did not see the entire selection of food. It was vast. They can put us in a side area for our group or keep us together.

With that said, I ARRANGED FOR A TRIAL LUNCHEON ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2025, AT 11:00 AM. Their Management said Wednesday is the best day for them to accommodate us. They are located a few blocks east of I-17 and several miles west of Highway 51. They have a very large parking lot, and they are at the corner of 15th Avenue and Bethany Home Road on the south side of the street.

Mike Marron called me today and stated he would be there. He sent several items which I attached at the bottom of the email. His information is valuable and informative.

For those of you coming, PLEASE LET ME KNOW SO I CAN GIVE THE RESTAURANT A HEAD COUNT BEFORE OUR LUNCHEON. PLEASE RESPOND BY OCTOBER 14, 2025, AT NOON. I hope this meets the needs of our group and I welcome any comments or concerns. Thanks. Stay safe and healthy.

Regards,

Brian DuFour, USN (Ret.)
