Sheila Allen peacefully returned to the Lord’s embrace at the age of 63 after battling cancer for a decade. Born to David Jerome Allen and Carole Phillips in Chicago, Illinois, she served as a second-generation Chicago Police Officer for over 35 years and was a gifted gardener. Most notably, she was a truly selfless and devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Sheila is survived by her parents, her sister Patricia Swoboda, brother Mark Allen, her three daughters Barbara Feeley (Scott), Meagan Blahnik (Dustin), and Heather Conner (Ryan), and her six granddaughters, Grace, Nora, Maeve, Clare, Tessa, and Rita. Her Funeral Mass will be held at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Fort Myers, Florida at 1100 on 4 December 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent in her name to the Catholic Charities of America.

MEETING NOTICE!

All Certified CPD Peer Support Members are welcome to attend a debriefing led by Assistant Director Kathy O’Neill and other clinical staff at the EAP building at 1759 W. Adams St. Tomorrow, 18 Nov 2025 from 1300 1500 hours. A Tableau Dashboard list of Active Peers can be accessed by navigating to the EAP Section of the Wire in the upper left corner, clicking the “Peer Support” tab, then scrolling down to “Peer Support Members”, or by reviewing the list of Peer Members in the Cordico App. Department leadership is encouraged to allow Peer Support Members under their command to attend during their tour of duty if manpower and operational needs permit.
