Stephen Bybee, 79, lifelong Chicago resident, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025. Beloved husband to Kathleen Bybee. Devoted father to William Bybee. Adoring son to the late Grace Bomberry. Cherished brother to James, William, Johanne, Hazel, John, Lois, Earl, Maxine, and Millie. He was also a caring uncle to many nieces, nephews, and friends. Stephen loved his “Old-School” cars and going to car shows. He had a few he collected and even entered in the shows. He was a proud Chicago Firefighter for over 36 years; he really loved his job and helping people. Another one of his greatest joys and pastimes was spending time with his family and friends. Stephen will be deeply missed by all that knew him but never forgotten. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital; E.M.W.Q. Widows & Children’s Fund of the Chicago Fire Department; and The Chicago Fire Department Gold Badge Society. Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 9 am to 9:45 a.m. at the church, with a 10:00 a.m. Mass at ST. SYMPHOROSA CHURCH, located on 6125 S. Austin Ave, in Chicago. Martin Joseph Mullane Loving husband of Diana Mullane, Keferlis; devoted father of Sean Mullane and Rilee (Melinoë Godspeed) Mullane; cherished son of Patrick, retired CPD, and Eileen Mullane; beloved brother of Patrick, CPD, (Marietta) Mullane, Dan (Tracy) Mullane, Kevin, CPD, (Katie) Mullane and Brian Mullane. Marty was a treasured nephew and cousin to many, both here and in Ireland. He was a fun-loving uncle and a true friend to everyone. Some of his fondest memories were long gaming nights with his two children. He loved biking and was always up for whatever adventurous excursion his wife had planned for the weekend. He enjoyed watching Jeopardy and attending trivia nights, playing bags with family and friends, and hitting the ice for hockey games with his brother and close friends. He was the go-to tech support for the entire family, patient and willing to help. Always looked forward to family get-togethers. A true traveler at heart, he explored the world with curiosity and enthusiasm, thanks in part to his more than 35 year career at Alumni Holidays. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 3:00 to time of service at 8:00 P.M. at Morizzo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2550 West Hassell Road, (Northeast corner at Barrington Road), Hoffman Estates, Illinois 60169.
