William H. Insley, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on November 11, 1944, in Chicago to Florence E. (Nelson) and Frank H. Insley, Bill lived his entire life deeply rooted in the city he loved. Bill was married to his devoted wife, Irene, for more than 50 years. Together they built a strong, faith-filled family grounded in love, loyalty, and service. He was the proud father of three sons—Stephen, CPD (Margaret, B.S.N.), Sean, CPD (Kim, CPD), and Gregory, CPD (Bridget, CCSO). Inspired by their father’s dedication, integrity, and commitment to helping others, all three sons joined the Chicago Police Department and earned the rank of Detective. He was a cherished grandfather to eight grandchildren: Nicholas, Gregory Jr., Miranda, B.S.N., Morgan, Stephen Jr., Lauren, Ryan, and Matthew, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy. A lifelong South Side Chicagoan, Bill graduated from St. Nicholas of Tolentine Grammar School (Class of 1958) and St. Rita of Cascia High School (Class of 1962). He remained deeply connected to the St. Rita community throughout his life, actively supporting alumni events and maintaining the friendships built during his formative years. Bill was a dedicated and generous community member. He served as St. Nick’s Sports Booster President, volunteered with Marquette Boys Baseball, supported youth basketball programs, served as a Boy Scout Master, and was involved with the CB radio “Roaring 20’s” Club. An avid bowler, he participated in multiple leagues at Ford City. Faith was the center of his life, and he served as an active parishioner and usher at Queen of the Universe and St. John Fisher. Professionally, Bill enjoyed a successful career with Illinois Bell, where he worked for over 30 years, followed by a second career with Century 21. He also continued his commitment to service through his membership in the Lions Club. Known for his warm personality, steady presence, and unwavering support for others, Bill was a true friend to many. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched with his mentorship, generosity, and dedication to faith, family, and community. Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A visitation for Bill will be held on Monday, December 1st, 2025 at St. Rita of Cascia Chapel, 7740 S. Western Ave, Chicago, IL from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 12:00 pm. Interment to follow, St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, 87th Street & Hamlin Ave., Evergreen Park, IL.

Jerry was born and raised in Norridge, IL, and had a large group of neighborhood friends, whose friendships continued as they grew older. Jerry was a 1992 graduate of Divine Savior Grammar School, and a 1996 Graduate of St. Patrick High School, where he was a Eucharistic Minister and a manager for the football and swimming teams. He attended Lewis University and Triton College. He worked as a route driver for Cloverleaf dairy before he started his career as a boom truck driver and crane operator for WMF Meyer Plumbing Supply in Crest Hill. Those who knew Jerry knew how knowledgeable he was. Jerry wasn’t afraid to tackle any project. It seemed as if he was always on call when somebody needed a helping hand or to repair something. He never refused to give a helping hand. He worked hard and wanted his projects to be done right and wasn’t afraid to take advice or try something new. Jerry was Very Active in his parish St. Ambrose and a 7th grade religious education teacher for many years. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus St. Ignatius of Loyola Council #15713. Jerry was very active with the Cub and Boy Scouts. As a very active Den leader and Cubmaster. He thoroughly enjoyed working with the Scouts on projects and doing camping trips. In his leisure he loved to play 500 Rummy and found great interest in crafting and woodworking projects. He loved collecting and listening to good, and some crazy LP’s (Records) and Movies. In his latest interest model trains and collecting Plasticville Houses he couldn’t pass up a good deal. He, like his mother, loved Christmas whether it was music or decorations. The holidays won’t be the same without his touch. Unfortunately, the best laid plans DO sometimes go astray. He planned a family cruise for early December, but the good Lord had other plans for him. Jerry will be sorely missed for his strength and endless help and guidance. All who knew him loved him and will miss him. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family would be greatly appreciated. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Carlo Acutis (formerly St. Ambrose) Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet.
