Steven Kolecki.png

Obituary for Steven Michael Kolecki We celebrate the life of Steven Michael Kolecki, aged 66, who passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025. He was the loving father of Michael (Nicole), John (Kristin) and the late Jacqueline. Proudest grandfather of Clark and Patrick. Dearest brother to Danny and the late Chester. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Eleanor Kolecki. In between coaching his sons’ endless baseball and football games, Steven never stopped finding time to help others: he was a proud Chicago Firefighter of over 30 years before his retirement. It was a career he loved and being a Lieutenant on Truck 49 were his proudest years on the job where he was able to fight fires with some of his best and most trusted friends. Family was always the most important thing to Steven. He shared so much of his heart with his nieces (Raegan, Sara, and Danielle), nephews (Craig, Jake, and Keith), sisters-in-law (Cathy and Darryl), and countless cousins. His love also reached countless friends and neighbors. He loved surrounding himself with family; always cooking for the holidays and throwing pool parties. And he never turned down the chance to talk to you about his unwavering fandom of the Bears, Cubs, Blackhawks, and Hawkeyes. Visitation is Monday, December 8, 2025 from 3 PM to 9 PM at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem). A Service in celebration of Steven’s life will be at 7:30 PM. Per his request he will be cremated and his cremains will be buried at Resurrection Cemetery at a future date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Park Lawn School.
