Virginia Mary “Ginny” Bigane, 66, of LaGrange. Beloved daughter of the late John Edward and the late Margaret Mary Bigane; loving sister of Mary (James) McGlone, Susan (Maury) Sheehy, Michael Bigane, and the late John E. Bigane, III, the late Elizabeth M. Bigane, and the late James A. (late Maureen) Bigane; dearest aunt of several nieces and nephews, and cousin to many. Ginny was a proud alum of the University of Dayton, and received a Juris Doctor Degree from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Following Law School, Ginny was an Assistant State’s Attorney for Cook County where she spent 30 years vigorously prosecuting crimes and providing much needed services to victims. Following her extensive career in law enforcement, Ginny received a Certificate from the College of DuPage as a certified alcohol and drug abuse counselor. She loved animals and, in her spare time, chaired and participated in a variety of fund-raising projects related to pets. Ginny was a devoted sibling and friend who will be missed dearly by all those who loved her. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at Ivins/Moravecek Funeral Home 80 E. Burlington St. Riverside then going to St. Mary Church 105 Herrick Road, Riverside, for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Steven McGregor “Red” Dunn, 71, of Park Ridge, IL, passed away on December 6, 2025, after a short, but courageous battle with brain cancer. Born in 1954 to James, of the Chicago Fire Department, and Valerie, née Bruce, Dunn, Red built a life defined by service, craftsmanship, and deep devotion to his family and community. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Virginia “Ginny”, née Erickson; his daughter Katie (Chris) and son Alex, Ret. Des Plaines Police, (Daisy); and his cherished grandchildren Evelyn, Isabel, Alexander, and William, who knew him lovingly as “Baba”. He is also survived by his older brother, Jim (Ina). He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Sue, and his brother, Tom. Red proudly served as a Fireman for the Village of Skokie for 27 years, working in many capacities including Engineer (Squad 18), Paramedic, and Cook. He was recognized with a life-saving award in 1992 for his heroic actions saving Multiple lives at the Bank of Lincolnwood high-rise fire, including rescuing a civilian through a window as part of Truck Co. 16. In retirement, he remained a proud member of IAFF Local 3033. Red was a gifted and creative craftsman. His scratch-built brass models earned national and international honors, each piece reflecting countless hours of patience, precision, and artistic talent. His proudest modeling achievement was a model of his father’s WWII ship, the USS Rixey. Red’s finished carpentry and handyman work shaped the homes and businesses of many families and friends who knew his work was unmatched. A lifelong car enthusiast, he fixed, tuned, and painted many cars. He shared his talents generously, and his creativity and precision inspired those who knew him – he was always willing to lend his time, tools, and enthusiasm to anyone who needed it. Steven came into the world with a big spirit and an even bigger heart, traits that never faded. Larger than life in every sense, he carried a presence that filled the room, a voice that traveled, and a humor you couldn’t forget. He will be remembered for his heart of service, sense of humor, remarkable skill, and the countless ways he made life better for the people around him. A visitation to honor and remember Steven will be held Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, 120 S Northwest Highway, Park Ridge, IL 60068. Arnold Gacki, age 91, of Orland Park, Ill, formerly of Chicago, entered into eternal peace on December 07, 2025. Arnold was a St. Rita High school graduate, Air Force veteran, and a retired Chicago Firefighter. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years Deloris, Father John, Mother Irene, Brother Ken, sister Geraldine, and son Michael. He is the loving brother of Maryann White. He is the loving father of Robert, James, and Laurie Ann. He is the loving Grandfather of Nicole Spooner, Michael Jr., Robert Jr, Lisa Cody, and John. He is the loving Great-grandfather to Leon, Theodore, Nora and Natalie. Arnold was very active and loved landscaping and taking care of his property. He loved to go antiquing and hanging out with his son duck hunting. He was an extremely hard working individual. His life was a testament to his dedication to his family’s well-being. He had a huge heart, was dearly loved, and will truly be missed.
