Local Fund Established For Slain Dallas Police Officers

Chicago Police Organizations Come Together to
Support Fallen Dallas Officers

July 12, 2016 - In the wake of the deadliest attack on police officers since 9/11, the Chicago Police Department and its support organizations have come together to raise funds for the 5 officers slain in Dallas last week. The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation, FOP Lodge 7, the Police Chaplains Ministry, Chicago Patrolmen's FCU, 100 Club of Chicago, the Brotherhood for the Fallen and the CPD Sergeants, Lieutenants and Captains Associations have established a support fund to collect donations with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the affected families.

"Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to our colleagues in Dallas," said Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson. "The unspeakable loss of those brave officers is not just a tragedy for Dallas, but a tragedy for our entire country. They are heroes and we will never forget their legacy of service to their city and to our profession."

Last week, 5 police officers were killed by a deranged gunman as they worked an anti-police protest in Dallas. The sniper attack claimed the lives of Dallas police officers Patrick Zamarripa, Michael Krol, Michael Smith, Lorne Ahrens and Dallas Area Rapid Transit police officer Brent Thompson.

"At a time when our nation's law enforcement is under attack simply because of the uniform they wear, it is imperative that we work together and form a united front," said Phil Cline, Chicago Police Memorial Foundation executive director. "The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation and our supporters are standing squarely beside our brothers and sisters in Dallas."

Those wishing to make a donation should visit http://www.CPDmemorial.org/SupportDallas or click on the DONATE button below. Donors can bring cash or checks payable to Dallas Police Support Fund to any Chicago Patrolmen's Federal Credit Union branch in person as well.
