Christine Lee Norton (nee Grigas), age 71, at rest April 22, 2023. Loving mother of Brian Norton (Robin Whitney), Kerry Cassidy Norton (Alison Cassidy Norton), Erin Norton (Mary Schultz), Edward Norton (Claire Norton) and Katie Norton (Daniel Quinn). Doting grandmother of Emilia and Eva Norton, and Laurence Cassidy Norton. Former wife of the late Thomas E Norton, CPD. Beloved sister of Daniel Grigas (Jean). Cherished best friend and partner to Robert Farley. Christine Norton spent over 20 years educating young people and future computer hackers at St. Bede the Venerable School. She spent her early career as a police officer and was among the first women in the history of the Chicago Police Department to walk a beat. At the amateur level, she played many parts, including but not limited to, stained glass artisan, vintage furniture collector, freshwater pleasure cruise captain, White Sox diehard, Pick-A-Little Lady, screaming toddler charmer, and performer of long-form, free associative storytelling. Christine spent her last years in brave pursuit of a life of adventures and loves, both new and old. Visitation Thursday, April 27th from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the KERRY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CARE CENTER, 7020 W. 127th Street, Palos Heights. Family & Friends will gather Friday, April 28th directly at Saint Bede the Venerable Church, 8200 S. Kostner Avenue, Chicago, Mass 11:30 a.m. Interment will be private. Christine L. PCD/EAP NOTICE!

The Professional Counseling Division/ EAP will begin having a Veteran Affairs representative at the Central EAP location for appointments twice a month or as needed by request. During the appointment, a representative will assist the Department members and their families with understanding VA benefits, completing paperwork, etc. For the month of April, the following dates and times are available: Thursday, 27 April 2023, from 1400 - 1700 hours (2:00 p.m. - 5 p.m.) and Friday, 28 April 2023, from 0900 - 1200 hours (9:00 a.m. - 12 p.m.). Other times can be available by request. Each appointment is ½ hr. for the initial visit, with follow up appointments as necessary.
