Phyllis Elaine Leidy, 79, passed away on April 18, 2023, at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. IL. She was born Phyllis Elaine Packer, the third of four daughters, to Benjamin and Blenda Packer on August 1, 1943 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI and was raised in Wheaton IL. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Patricia (George) Hardman. Phyllis will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her beloved husband of over 54 years, Carl John Leidy Retired CPD, her grateful children, Wendy Ann (Seth) Temko, Carl Jeffrey (Melanie) Leidy and Joshua Benjamin Leidy, her grandchildren Jackson and Oliver Temko and Megan, Jacob, and Mason Leidy, and her sisters Roberta (David) Mass and Jacqueline (Roger) Buchanan, as well as many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was a nurse by profession, dedicating her life to helping others. She was known for her caring and fun-loving nature towards her patients, and for sharing her wide range of experience with her coworkers. Phyllis will be remembered for the love, warmth, and humor she brought into the lives of those around her. Her family and friends will always cherish the memories they shared, as she brought real meaning into family celebrations. She served in a variety of ministries, setting an example for her family and influencing others to unknown proportions. Her joyful service and kindness to the less fortunate, hurting, and victims of injustice influenced by her unshakable Christian faith established a legacy that will last for eternity. Service information for Phyllis will be posted soon. It will be held in IL. The family would enjoy reading any of your favorite memories and impressions of her. The Biebel Family is grateful to the Neighborhood Boys & Girls Club for honoring our late sister, Terry Biebel, a retired Chicago Police Officer who dedicated her life to ‘walking the beat’ of the streets of her police district helping protect her community. The Teresa ‘Terry’ Biebel Service Above Self Award recognizes the outstanding contributions that women have made in the public sector. The 2023 award is presented to Sara Herman, a disabled US Army veteran, single mother raising 2 children. Congrats to Sara! Additionally, our family will be hosting an ‘In Memory of Terry’ event:
