Marianne McCullough, (nee Brenner), age 69, late of Plainfield and Shorewood, IL and formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully, Friday, May 19, 2023 at the Lightways Hospice Home, Joliet, with her loving family by her side. Marianne was born in Ft. Bragg, N.C., to the late David and Patricia (Snowden) Brenner. She was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and was a retired police officer for the City of Chicago. Marianne was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The daughter of an Army officer, she grew up in various parts of the United States, as well as in Germany, and that upbringing led to her love for travelling. She was also an avid reader, and enjoyed going to restaurants and the movies. She is survived by her four children, Michael (Katherine) McCullough, David (Laura) McCullough, Sarah (Ron) Reed, and Christian (Kristy) McCullough; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Michelle (Kenny) Miears and Maureen (Michael) Leuthen; one brother, David (Michelle) Brenner; a brother-in-law, John Dawson; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Jennifer Dawson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation (www.cpdmemorial.org) would be appreciated. A Memorial Gathering for Marianne McCullough will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. A St. Jude Police Memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Cremation rites have been accorded and interment will be private. It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Peter Stratigos, age 56, Deputy Sheriff with Cook County on Saturday, May 20, 2023. Peter faithfully served the Chicagoland community as a law enforcement officer for over 27 years. Beloved husband of Demetra (nee Dalkouras), dedicated father to George and Alexandra Stratigos; loving son to the late George (Angela née, Karydis) Stratigos from Kythira, Greece; dear brother to Cosmas (Penny) Stratigos; cherished uncle to George and Vasili Stratigos; admired godfather, cousin, nephew, uncle, and friend to many. Peter’s integrity, bravery, and commitment earned him commendations and deep respect from his colleagues. His selflessness and generosity will always be remembered. May Peter be remembered as a true hero—a shining symbol of courage and compassion. Weekly Prayer Services Offered:

Christian prayer services are offered every Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the multi-purpose room at HQ and every Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the vendateria at the academy.

A Muslim (Jumma) prayer service is offered every Friday at 1:00 p.m. in room 202 at the academy.

The police Mass is offered every 2nd and 4th Sunday at 11:00 a.m. at Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, 1140 W. Jackson Blvd.

Each gathering lasts 20-30 minutes. No matter your faith tradition, ALL ARE WELCOME to all the above!
