Noreen Louise Vimarco (nee O’Neill), of Chicago, IL., passed away peacefully on June 5th, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was 75 years young and the light in so many lives. Noreen was married to her partner in crime, Dominic “Skip” Vimarco (USMC veteran, retired CPD and retired Lt. Loyola University Police) and celebrated fifty-six wonderful years together on May 31st. Noreen was an amazing mother to Gina (Matthew) Smith, Nicole (David) Abernethy and Joseph Vimarco. Her favorite title was being Ree Ree to her grandchildren Mia and Charlie Abernethy. Noreen was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Helen O’Neill. She was a loving sister to Larry (Marilyn), Patsy, late Tim, John, Dan (Stephanie) and Tom; was a cherished aunt and a devoted friend to many. To know Noreen, you knew her as Reen, Flo, No No and her absolute favorite Ree Ree. You knew her kind, loving and energetic spirit; celebrated her favorite unofficial holiday, the Superbowl and crossed your fingers she let you on her board. Noreen loved traveling to her favorite place in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida where she and Skip would spend months at a time visiting with their best friends and watching the sunsets from their balcony while listening to Bob Marley. Noreen loved her job working for Dr. Keith Schaible for 20 years before her retirement in 2013. Her retirement years brought her so much joy watching her grandkids play their sports and she beamed with pride celebrating their milestones and achievements. Noreen truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with family and friends, cooking her famous meat sauce, date nights with Skip and surrounding herself with the people in her life she loved. We will miss her infectious smile and witty humor. She was the brightest light and one of a kind. Noreen is leaving behind a legacy of family, faith, laughter, love, and countless memories. A special thank you to Rosa for the love she showed her “lady” Noreen. Crystal and Mary for their kindness and help navigating the last few months. Visitation Friday, June 13 from 2:00 until time of Funeral Mass at 4:00 PM at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church (10621 S.
