Anthony J. Golczak, Retired CPD Sergeant of the 18th District, passed away on August 27, 2025. Cherished son of the late Walter Golczak and Alice Golczak Greig, and beloved stepson of Robert Greig, who lovingly embraced him as his own. Beloved husband of Barbara nee Carroll; devoted father of Anthony J. Golczak, Jr. and Kelly (Joseph) DeCarlo; treasured grandpa of Caroline, Evelyn, and Michael; loving brother of the late Maureen (Philip) Pandolfo; and a dear uncle and friend to many. Tony always put his family first. He lived a life of service and integrity. He was a proud St. Rita alumnus, an avid horseman, and later worked as a Security Officer at Daley College. Of all his roles, being a grandpa was his greatest joy. Visitation, Thursday, September 4, 2025, 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice, Illinois. SPECIAL EVENT!

The Chicago Police Department Recruitment and Retention Unit, in collaboration with the Chicago Fire Department, and the City of Chicago Office of Emergency Management, proudly announce the Public Safety Community Fair on Saturday, 27 September 2025, from 1100 to 1500 hours at Public Safety Headquarters, located at 3510 South Michigan Avenue. This free, family-friendly event offers a unique opportunity to meet professionals from a variety of public safety sectors. Attendees can enjoy live demonstrations, connect with on-site job recruiters and mentors, and participate in engaging activities for all ages. All community members and their families are welcome. The event will be held outdoors in the Public Safety Headquarters parking lot. Please note: There will be no parking allowed in the Public Safety Headquarters (PSHQ) parking lot from 0600 to 1800 hours on the day of the event. During this time, Department personnel assigned to or visiting PSHQ are authorized to park in the IIT-owned parking lots D4 and D5 (also known as the De La Salle Institute parking lots), located at 3434 South Michigan Avenue. After 1800 hours, Department personnel are no longer authorized to park in the IIT lots. Any vehicles remaining after this time may be subject to ticketing and/ or towing. If there are any questions please feel free to contact the unit at 312-746-7799 or stop by 1300 West Jackson Blvd to speak directly with a member of the unit.
